How can we help?
About
We’re Tomono.
We believe walls are more than surfaces. They hold light, echo memories and shape how a room feels. Every design we create begins slowly — drawn by hand, guided by silence, inspired by nature.
We don’t follow trends. We build atmospheres.
Each wallpaper is made to order, tailored to your space, your wall, your rhythm. No warehouses. No excess. Just pieces made with care, when they’re needed.
For too long, wallpaper has lived inside the same patterns. Small flowers. Repeated motifs. Designs that have lost their meaning. We wanted something quieter. Something real.
With modern printing and old-world attention to detail, our artists can create without limits. Large compositions. Gentle textures. Murals that breathe across the entire wall. Every piece is printed just for you.
This is not mass production.
This is intentional creation.
We’re here to help walls feel alive again — softly, quietly, beautifully.
Tomono. Find your atmosphere.

Making Less of an Impact
We want to create walls that inspire — without leaving a heavy mark on the world around us.
Sourcing & Production
Our materials and printing process are carefully chosen to be kind to both your home and the planet.
- All our wallpapers are made with FSC-certified paper from responsibly managed forests. For every tree used, a new one is planted.
- We use TCF (Totally Chlorine Free) paper and OEKO-TEX certified fibers to ensure our materials are safe and clean.
- Our printing method uses eco-friendly, non-toxic inks that are free from PVC, allergens and harmful substances.
- Our entire production runs on renewable energy, reducing emissions and waste from start to finish.
Made to Order
We only produce what you order. That means no excess rolls, no unused stock, and almost zero waste. Every piece is created specifically for your wall, making our process more sustainable from the very beginning.
Packaging & Shipping
We use plastic-free packaging and partner with logistics companies committed to more sustainable solutions. Every step — from printing to shipping — is designed to minimize impact.

Sustainability isn’t a finish line. It’s something we keep working on.
If you have ideas or suggestions on how we can do better, we’d love to hear from you at hello@tomono.store.

How to Order
Ordering your Tomono wallpaper is simple. To make sure your design fits perfectly, start by measuring your wall — then choose the number of rolls or use our wallpaper calculator to find the exact amount you need.
1. Measure Your Wall
Begin by measuring the widest point of the wall (width) and the tallest point (height), excluding trims, baseboards or mouldings.
Once you have those measurements, add 2–4 inches (5–10 cm) to both width and height. This extra margin ensures a clean fit and easy trimming during installation.
If your wall has windows, doors, slopes or multiple sections, measure it as a single rectangle and simply trim away the excess during installation.
2. Choose the Right Number of Rolls
All Tomono wallpaper rolls are 26 inches wide.
The height of the roll is what varies, so you can choose the length that best fits your wall’s measurements.
You have two options:
Option 1: Manually calculate how many rolls you need based on your measurements.
Option 2: Use our wallpaper calculator to get the exact number of rolls in seconds.
The calculator automatically factors in the pattern, roll width and your extra margin, so you don’t have to worry about the math.
3. Place Your Order
Once you’ve selected the correct roll length and quantity, add them to your cart and proceed to checkout. Every roll is made to order, so your wallpaper will be printed specifically for your wall.
Tip: It’s always better to order a little extra than too little. A small margin ensures seamless installation and perfect pattern matching.
How to Measure your Wall
Since each Tomono wallpaper is made to fit your space precisely, accurate measurements are the foundation of a perfect installation.
General Guidelines
To get started, you only need two measurements: the widest point of your wall (width) and the tallest point (height).
Measure only the surface that will be covered, excluding baseboards, trims or mouldings. Once you’ve written down your measurements, double-check them carefully.
For best results, add 2–4 inches (5–10 cm) to both the width and the height. This small allowance gives you extra flexibility during installation and ensures a clean, seamless fit.
Standard Walls
For rectangular walls, measure the total width at the widest point and the total height at the tallest point, ignoring baseboards or trims.
Add the extra 2–4 inches to both dimensions for easy installation and trimming.
Multiple Walls
If your wallpaper design spans two or more adjacent walls, measure the width of each wall and add them together to get the total width.
Order the wallpaper as a single continuous piece to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted design.
Remember to include the same 2–4 inch margin in your measurements.
Walls with Windows or Doors
For walls with openings like windows or doors, measure the entire width and height as if the openings weren’t there.
The extra material will be cut away during installation.
Always add the 2–4 inch margin to both measurements.
Sloped Walls
For sloped or angled walls (such as under a roof), measure as if the wall were a perfect rectangle:
Width at the widest horizontal distance
Height from the floor to the highest point
Ignore the slope — the extra material will be trimmed after installation. Add the 2–4 inch margin to both measurements.
Stair Walls
For walls that run along stairs, measure from the highest ceiling point to the lowest floor point for the height, and the horizontal distance for the width (not the diagonal).
If your wallpaper has a repeating pattern, consider adding a bit more to the height to allow for perfect alignment.
No matter the shape of your wall — standard, sloped, with windows or alongside stairs — adding that 2–4 inch safety margin makes installation smoother and guarantees a clean, precise result.

Installing your Tomono wallpaper should feel easy and calm. Take your time and, if possible, do it with someone else — it’s simpler and more enjoyable that way.
Tools You’ll Need
- Spirit level and pencil
- Squeegee
- Brush, sandpaper and a metal spatula (to clean and smooth the wall)
- Step stool or ladder
1. Get Ready
After receiving your wallpaper, remove it from its packaging and unroll it gently.
Let it rest flat for at least 48 hours so it can adapt to the room’s temperature and humidity.
- Too much moisture may reduce durability.
- To remove the wallpaper in the future, start peeling slowly from one corner.
- For painted walls, warming the wallpaper with a blow dryer makes removal easier and gentler.
Important:
Do not apply the wallpaper if your wall has:
- Cracking paint
- Moisture spots
- Knockdown, orange peel or popcorn textures
2. Prepare the Wall
- If your wall is freshly painted or primed, allow 2–7 days to fully dry.
- Check you have all the sheets and that patterns or mural numbers match.
- If the surface is made of non-standard material (like wood or tiles), contact us before applying.
- Fill holes and sand bumps to make the wall completely smooth.
- Avoid glossy finishes; semi-matte walls work best.
- Clean with a damp cloth and let dry fully — no harsh chemicals.
- Wipe down again 24h before installation.
- Remove outlet covers and skirting boards if needed.
3. Installation Steps
- Use a spirit level to draw a straight vertical line on the wall.
- Peel about 30 cm (12 in) of the backing paper from the top of the first sheet.
- Carefully position the sheet along your line — accuracy here matters for the rest.
- Gently press and smooth the top of the sheet to the wall.
- Use your squeegee to remove air bubbles, working from top to bottom and center outwards.
- Gradually peel the backing as you smooth the wallpaper down.
- If needed, small adjustments can be made by gently lifting and repositioning the sheet.
- For the next sheets:
- Align the pattern carefully — edges should touch but never overlap.
- Check the design matches at the top and bottom.
4. Final Touches
- Once everything is in place, use a sharp utility knife or scissors to trim any excess along the top and bottom edges.
- After 24 hours, gently smooth the wallpaper again with the squeegee to ensure perfect adhesion.
- Step back and enjoy your new atmosphere.
Tips for a Perfect Finish
- Don’t stretch the wallpaper — it will shrink back over time.
- Work slowly and patiently for the best results.
- If applying a mural, follow the sheet numbers in order.
